1Getting Started

How does Ghost Cofounder work?

Paste your website URL at ghostcofounder.com/onboard. Your cofounder crawls your site, maps your business — products, pricing, positioning, team, competitors, market — and builds a Company Brain. That's the operating model it works from. Then it starts. It monitors your competitors daily, flags vendor and contract risks, catches financial anomalies, drafts client proposals, writes content, builds outreach sequences, and documents your processes. It decides what to work on based on what it observes across your business. You don't prompt it. It finds the work, does it, and reports back every morning.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

The onboarding tool is free — paste your URL, see your Company Brain instantly, no signup required. When you're ready to activate your cofounder, create a free account. No credit card needed.

I signed up but nothing happened yet. Is it working?

Yes. A competitor analysis task runs immediately when you activate. Results typically appear on your dashboard within 2-3 minutes. If nothing shows after 5 minutes, refresh the page. After the initial run, tasks execute automatically — every 6 hours on Solo, every 2 hours on Growth and Scale.

When do I get my first report?

Your first task results appear within minutes of activation. Your first full morning briefing arrives the next morning by email. After that, you'll receive a briefing every morning with everything your cofounder did overnight, what it recommends for the day, and any decisions that need your input.

My Company Brain has some details wrong.

Expected during the first few days. The initial Company Brain is built from publicly available information on your site — some context only you would know. Two ways to fix it: correct details directly in your dashboard, or tell your cofounder through chat. It learns from every correction and the Company Brain gets sharper over time. Most users say it's highly accurate within 1-2 weeks.

2What It Does

What does your cofounder actually do?

Three things, every day:

  • Builds — Content drafts, client proposals, outreach sequences, landing pages, process documentation, SOPs, strategy reports, comparison pages, email sequences. Anything that needs to be created for your business.
  • Distributes — Publishes to your CMS, sends outreach through your connected tools, pushes content to your channels. On Growth and Scale with integrations connected, it doesn't just draft — it ships.
  • Monitors — Competitors (pricing changes, feature launches, positioning shifts), vendors (contract renewals, cost changes), financial trends (billing anomalies, spend spikes), market signals (customer sentiment, industry shifts), and your own metrics (churn signals, engagement drops). It operates across your entire business.

Content is one of many things it does — not the headline.

What does it do that I wouldn't think to ask for?

That's the point. It catches the vendor contract about to auto-renew at a rate you'd never agree to. It flags the infrastructure bill that spiked 40% month over month. It notices a competitor quietly changed their pricing page at midnight. It finds the pattern across your last three client proposals and uses it to draft the next one. It doesn't wait for instructions. It observes your business continuously and acts on what it finds.

Can I tell it what to work on?

Yes. Use the chat in your dashboard to give direction, ask questions, or shift priorities. But it also picks tasks autonomously based on what it observes. Both modes run in parallel — your direction plus its own judgment. Think of it like any good cofounder: it listens to your priorities but also brings its own observations to the table.

Does it publish content directly?

On Growth and Scale with your CMS connected via our built-in integrations, yes — it can publish directly to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, and other platforms. On Starter, content is drafted and delivered to your dashboard for you to review and publish. Either way, nothing goes live without your approval unless you explicitly enable auto-publish.

Does it actually send emails?

Outreach sequences are drafted and queued for your review. To enable direct sending, you connect your email platform through our integrations and approve the sequence. Nobody gets emailed without your sign-off. The goal is a cofounder that executes — not one that goes rogue.

How is this different from ChatGPT or Claude?

ChatGPT and Claude are chat tools. You ask a question, you get an answer. Close the tab, they forget everything. Ghost Cofounder is an operator. It has persistent memory of your business, competitors, and market. It runs tasks on a schedule without being asked. It monitors your competitive landscape daily. It flags financial anomalies, vendor risks, and market shifts. It drafts deliverables from your business context. And it reports back every morning with what it did, what it found, and what it recommends. The difference: a chat tool waits for you. Your cofounder works while you sleep.

How is this different from hiring a VA?

Speed, breadth, and compounding context. A VA needs weeks of onboarding, daily management, and works one task at a time during their hours. Your cofounder reads your entire business in 90 seconds, starts executing within minutes, and operates across every function simultaneously — content, ops, research, competitive intel, financial monitoring, vendor management. No timezone issues. No ramp-up. No management overhead. And it gets smarter about your business every single day.

3Billing & Plans

What are the plans?

  • Solo ($99/mo) — 100 tasks/month. Chat, daily morning briefing, competitor monitoring, financial review, vendor research, content drafts, process documentation. Tasks run every 6 hours.
  • Growth ($299/mo) — 400 tasks/month. Everything in Solo, plus autonomous execution (finds the work without prompting), priority runs every 2 hours, social monitoring, market research, client deliverable drafting, CMS publishing, and 998+ integrations.
  • Scale ($1,499/mo) — 1,500 tasks/month. Everything in Growth, plus multi-user access, browser automation, custom integrations, quarterly business reviews, dedicated Slack channel, and API access.

See full pricing details.

How do task credits work?

Each plan includes a monthly task allowance. A task is one meaningful unit of output — a drafted blog post, a competitor report, an outreach sequence, an SEO audit. Chat conversations, morning briefings, and quick questions don't count against your task limit. You can buy additional task packs from your billing page if you need more in a given month.

How do I cancel?

From your dashboard, go to Settings and open the Billing page. You can cancel, pause, or change plans directly. Your cofounder stays active through the end of your billing period. You can export all your work product before canceling.

Can I switch plans?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from your billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your Company Brain, task history, and generated content remain accessible for 30 days after cancellation. After that, data is permanently deleted. Export everything from your dashboard before canceling if you want to keep a copy.

4Technical & Privacy

What AI model powers this?

Claude by Anthropic, used for reasoning, research, document generation, and strategic analysis across all task types. We route different tasks to the right model tier based on complexity.

Is my business data shared with other customers?

No. Your Company Brain, competitive intelligence, financials, and operational data are completely siloed. We don't use your data to train models or share it with third parties. See our privacy policy for full details.

What if I don't have a website?

No problem. The onboarding flow has a no-website option — describe your business and we'll build your Company Brain from what you share. No URL required.

What integrations are available?

On Growth, your cofounder connects to your CMS for direct content publishing (WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, and 50+ others). On Scale, we build whatever integrations your operation needs as part of setup. More native integrations are in progress.

5Troubleshooting

The onboard crawler seems stuck.

Some websites block automated crawling. If the progress indicator stalls for more than 2 minutes, try refreshing and resubmitting. If it keeps failing, email support@ghostcofounder.com with your URL — we'll run the crawl manually and have your Company Brain ready within a few hours.

I found a bug or something looks broken.

Email support@ghostcofounder.com with a description and a screenshot if possible. Small team, fast response.

I can't log in.

Try resetting your password from the login page. If you signed up with Google, use the Google sign-in button — it won't match a password account. Check spam for verification emails. Still stuck? Email support@ghostcofounder.com from the address you signed up with and we'll sort it out.
